I completed an Honours Degree in Three Dimensional Design, then a Post Graduate Certificate of Art Education; both in Birmingham, a city very dear to my heart. My educational training has taken me on a pathway to work in Pre-Schools, Primary, Infant, Secondary and Sixth-Form, Further Education, Psychiatric Units and a Prison in a Teaching, Therapy and Community Art capacity.
I enthusiastically embrace Rudolf Steiner’s philosophy of teaching and therapy with an anthroposophical attitude. The term “anthroposophy” is made up of two Greek words “anthropos”-man and “Sophia”-wisdom. This puts the emphasis on the individual and knowledge of self, an approach that extends and reaches to medicine as well.
Over the years I have been involved in working with groups which encompass a wide range of abilities in a variety of exciting and challenging mediums.
Arts projects involved working with a broad spectrum of client groups which then enabled me to develop my networking skills through organising events and workshops. Keeping my own professional identity I embraced married life and we produced two sons who kept us busy. Geoff and I are now proud Grandparents and embrace the change in family dynamics.
In an age when increasing emphasis is being placed on individual responsibility for health, any therapy and medicine that approaches this task methodically and seriously has become a necessity. We live in an age which is showing an increasing tendency towards wholesale generalisation and standardisation, the need for a medicine that offers a range of specific holistic options and places the uniqueness of the individual at its centre is all the more important.
Few would deny our spiritual health is at least as worthy of attention as our physical well-being. Globally millions of people are using all sorts of fascinating tools, techniques and approaches to keep their soul-Yin/Yang-Rei/Ki-Life/Force-in as vigorous a condition as their heart, stomach, and limbs. There can be many routes to achieving an enlightened state of being, or at least feeling less stressed, more calm and in control, lighter in spirit and mentally focused and positive.
We all have varied diverse pathways and journeys, all the experiences in life bring us to a catalyst where we become physically; mentally; emotionally and spiritually aware. Working with homoeopathy; herbalism; subtle aromatherapy; Bach flower remedies; mineral tissue salts; crystals with holistic therapy Reiki, dowsing and the Violet Flame I can help clients move on, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually and encourage the client to move to the life they are meant to lead.
