The ability to heal is inherent in all of us; it is a normal and natural procedure. If we hurt a part of the body we place our hand over that place to make it feel better. This is normal and natural, We need to look at all forms of therapy in this way whether physically, mentally, emotionally or spiritually. All thoughts have power and they make us the spiritual beings that we become, the way we think about ourselves, how we perceive ourselves within many frameworks and how we are perceived enormously affect the way we live.
Holistic Therapy means taking a holistic approach when seeking a pro-active approach to healing ‘wholistically’. This describes an ongoing journey of discovery in search of more answers. Holistic Therapy addresses all parts of the individual, physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.
Health is achieved when the polar extremes of life are held in dynamic balance, waking and sleeping, stillness and movement, joy and sorrow yin and yang. Health results from actively searching out the path we as unique individual beings take into the world and internalise.
Health is not an end in itself; it simply helps us make the most of our social and personal lives. Healing can be thought of as a spiritual soul initiation in so far as it is an opportunity for the client or therapist to encounter and work with the light of their own inner being.
If we wish to live our lives in peace, joy, faith, harmony and love with a sense of wellbeing we must have all those elements in our atmosphere as a therapist. A concentration on positive mental energy creates harmony.
The emphasis on the way we live with health continues to be on the addressing of symptoms and conditions which the soul has created. Medical technology and pharmacology have created numerous means of relieving pain and suffering, and of eliminating the symptoms of a condition as quickly as possible. These are valuable aids to recovery, but if the spiritual dimension is missing, the most important aspect of the client is ignored.
Nobody knows the client better than the client. During an illness, the client has the opportunity to recognise the state of imbalance that the body and soul has reached and to understand this and rectify it. The illness can provide an opportunity to learn new modes of behaviour, to develop further insights, and acquire greater maturity.
